In the latest war between mobile phone makers, Sony Ericsson has announced that it is going to go all out with its latest release, the Sony Ericsson X10, a beast of a phone that is loaded with all kinds of features that consumers, especially among the heavily tech savvy, have been craving for quite some time now. It does appear that the electronics giant will be trouncing competition with this model that offers, among other things, the use of Google’s Android operating system. The new OS will certainly improve on what Google has learned by studying Apple’s OS for the iPhone and Google intends to do its best to give the kind of OS that will allow it to compete for a share of the mobile phone OS market the way it has in the search engine industry. All signs point to this offering a key level of competitiveness for the X10.
While rarely backing down from a challenge, Sony surprised analysts by having an 8.1 mega pixel camera built into their latest phone, a real leap forward from the 5 mega pixel expectations that are more or less standard at this time. That leads to a range of usability that is far higher than is commonly had in most mobile phones today. This is definitely a big plus in the growing web 2.0 sphere where users are exchanging photos in ever increasing numbers and demanding better technology with which to capture the images of their lives. Sony is certainly set to hit a home run, if not a grand slam, with their latest offering.
The market for smart phones and personal computing devices, particularly the hand held variety, continues to blur with the arrival of the new HTC HD2, a device lauded as truly revolutionary in its offerings. Those consumers who have been seeking out innovation when it comes to web browsing have expressed quite a bit of contentment with the new device simply because it unchains them from the WiFi limitations of geographical radius and allows them to rely on their own cellular modem which comes built in to the HD2. This is a big step for phone manufacturers that have traditionally be somewhat slow to embrace the changing nature of the web. Not only will the HD2 have far more processing power and Adobe Flash Player on its side, it is allowing true mobile web connections through broadband, a major improvement over its competition’s offerings.
Another massive selling point for the smart phone is the fact that it acts as computer in more ways than just its capabilities, offering consumers a screen that is much larger than anything else on the market today. This more closely emulates the experience that those browsing the web are more familiar with, such as a laptop or netbook computer. The better browsing capabilities of the HTC HD2 are heightened with the customizable keyboard, as well, making the entire experience closer to what experts have been forecasting for the last few years. The HD2 is definitely a forward step into new territory that is going to change the way consumers interact with the web using their phones.
Consumers have proven themselves less than content with the current range of features offered by most smart phones over the past few years and have been aggressively favoring companies that are attempting to offer more web access with their phones. The HTC HD2 has answered this call for a full featured phone and web browser in one, providing a solid platform for those who do not wish to hunt down a WiFi spot whenever they are looking to go online. This phone’s built in modem is capable of utilizing the cellular network to provide broadband access on the go at speeds that industry analysts expect will quickly become the new standard for mobile web browsing. The HTC angle of giving a better internet machine to its customers has helped them carve out a solid market share since their devices often go over and above the demands of the time.
A massive screen is one of the primary selling points of this latest offering from HTC and consumers have certainly responded well to the increased visual utility that such a large screen offers. In comparison with previous devices from any manufacturer, the HTC HD2 has the largest screen. Its finger friendly interface allows for total touch screen control over all aspects of the phone and built in features such as the high quality 5 megapixel camera with low light capability are rapidly making the HD2 a must have for those wanting to embrace the latest wave of innovations in the smart phone world. Experts agree, this new phone is changing the expectations of the global market.

The company, upon noticing the massive sales after the £100 price cut on the 8GB model, has decided that if they offer a free iPhone they may see even more people coming aboard. The deal will only be offered through AT&T outlets and not directly through the Apple store. Although many iPhone users are still locked into their 18 to 24 month contracts, O2 may find it a bit difficult to encourage new users to sign up. The two companies may offer an upgrade to appease those who fill still feel cheated after supporting the iPhone from the beginning.
